From Broadway With Love Benefit Concert Performed In Honor of Parkland Shooting Victims; Michael J. Mortiz Jr. Music Directs

On April 16th, 2018, some of Broadway and Television’s biggest stars joined the students of Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School at the BB&T Center for a one-night-only concert benefitting MSD Victims’ Fund and Shine MSD. Michael J. Moritz Jr. music directed and conducted the performance.

The concert featured Matthew Morrison (Glee, Light in the Piazza, Hairspray), Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), award-winning recording artist Deborah Cox, Noah Galvin (The Real O’Neals, Dear Evan Hansen), Justin Guarini (American Idol), Christy Altomare (Anastasia), George Salazar (Be More Chill, The Lightning Thief, Godspell), and many more.

From Broadway Records: “Students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas HIgh School, joined by other students within Broward County, are featured throughout the concert. The South Florida Symphony accompanies the performers.

Some of the songs performed were written by the Stoneman Douglas students in collaboration with New York theatrical composers including Duncan Sheik, Joe Iconis, Bobby Cronin, Zoe Sarnak, Drew Gasparini and more, with additional songs written solely by the students. Additionally, there is a special performance by Jaime Guttenberg's dance troupe in honor of her memory.”
